How long is the race?
The Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile race

What time does the Race start?
The Half Marathon begins at 8:30 a.m. EST

How do I register?
You can register online at our secure site. Click on the Registration tab and follow the directions. Remember – there are no refunds or deferrals to future years. Online registration for the Half Marathon will close on Nov. 5, 2013.

Is there a capacity limit (cap) on the races?
No, there is no capacity limit on the races.

May walkers participate in the Half Marathon?
Yes, walkers may participate, but they must be able to keep a 15:00 minute per mile pace in the Half Marathon. Roads will reopen at this pace and course services are not guaranteed to be available past this time.

What events do you offer?
A half marathon and corporate challenge.

Where are the Start Lines?
The start line for the Half Marathon is on Main St. in front of the KFC Yum! Center.

Where is the Finish Line?
The finish line is on Main St. at the Belvedere.

What time does the Finish Line close?
The Finish Line will close at 12:00 p.m.

Are headphones, ipods or MP3 players permitted?
You may wear your headphones, ipods or MP3 players; however, we ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants.

You should still be able to hear participants and volunteers in proximity to you.

Do I need to return the chip?
No. We are using disposable chips this year that DO NOT need to be turned in after the race.

Are strollers allowed?
Strollers and pets are not allowed in the Half Marathon.

What is the temperature that time of year?
According to weather.com, the average high is 56 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low is 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

Where should I park?
There is plenty of parking near the course. You can view a map here: www.kfcyumcenter.com/parkingandtrafficinfo.aspx

How far apart are the water stations?
There are 7 water stations strategically placed on the course.

Do I receive a medal?
All Half Marathon and Corporate Challenge finishers receive a medal.

What will I receive for participating?
Participants in the Half Marathon and Corporate Challenge will receive tech shirts, virtual goodie bags and finisher medals. Participants also have access to hydration drink stations, medical stations providing Vasoline, ice and first aid. The finish line offers a post-race party on the Belvedere.

What is the route for the half marathon? 
The course information can be found by clicking the "Course" Tab at the top navigation.

Is there a place to keep my keys and extra clothes?
Yes, Gear Check will be available at the start and finish

Is bib-swapping permitted?
Yes. Bibs can be swapped until Nov. 5. There is a $25 processing fee.

When is the last day to register?
The last day to register online for the Half Marathon is Nov. 5. You can register on Nov. 8 and 9 at packet pick-up for $100.

Where do I get my race packet?
Packet pickup for those participating in the Half Marathon and Corporate Challenge will be at the Slugger Field. Packet pickup will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes. But they will need a copy of your photo and your registration confirmation number, which you will receive upon registration.

What types of wheelchairs are allowed?
Push-rims are the only style of wheelchair allowed. The top three male/female wheelchairs are recognized in each event.

Are there bathrooms on the Half Marathon course?
Bathrooms will be available (typically porta-potties) near water stations along the Half Marathon course.

How do I get my results?
You will be able to get results on the LSCMarathon.com website by 7:00 p.m. race day.

What are the street closures?
The following streets will be closed during the following times:

  • Main Street (2nd Street to 3rd Street) 6:30 – 9:00 am
  • Main Street (2nd Street to Chestnut Street) 7:30 – 9:00 am
  • Second Street bridge 7:00 – 9:00 am
  • Chestnut Street 7:30 – 9:30 am
  • Lexington Avenue 7:30 – 9:45 am
  • Cherokee Park 7:30 – 10:30 am
  • Cherokee Parkway 7:30 – 10:45 am
  • Grinstead Drive (Cherokee Parkway to Cherokee Road) 7:30 – 11:00 am
  • Cherokee Road (Grinstead Drive to Baxter Avenue) 8:15 – 11:00 am
  • Baxter Avenue (Broadway to Liberty Street) 8:15 – 11:00 am
  • Liberty Street (Baxter Avenue to 9th Street) 8:15 – 11:30 am
  • Muhammad Ali (9th Street to 21st Street) 8:15 am – 12:00 pm
  • Main Street (21st Street to 12th Street) 8:15 am – 12:00 pm

What is the cancellation policy?
